I have SP2 on my XP Pro build. I need to format and reinstall XP on another PC but it has no internet connection at the moment, I will get a modem, but still that will be slow. Can I burn SP2 onto a CD and transfer it to the other PC this way?

If so how do I go about this task?

    Many thanks in advance.

If you have the SP 2 files, you just burn it to CD like any other data.

silverwork--The version of SP2 that you get from Windows Update is customized for the PC, and is usually much smaller in size than the generic full download. Can't you just connect the second PC to the modem and see if you can access Windows Update? Of course you will have to set up the PC with the ISP's addresses, etc. But you should be able to do that through Control Panel|Network Connections|Repair.
