I'm attempting to move 2 profiles from Netscape 7.2 on my old pc (running 2000) to the new one pc (running XP). I thought I followed the steps spelled out in "Moving profiles from PC to PC and/or OS to OS" but find when I try to replace the profile folder it creates a separate folder in the *.slt and then when I open Netscape it doesn't recognize my files/settings. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong!

    Thanks,
    Deb

    Welcome to the Forum, DebSue!

    Deb,

W2K and Windows XP have the same Profile location:
    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles

When moving the Same Profile to the Same Profile Location, and the Same Version of Netscape, then these are the guidelines to follow:

    http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/movesameprofsameOS.html

    Install Netscape

    The following steps are important:

Don't let Netscape launch once it is installed, and don't create a new profile. When the Profile Manager opens Click on EXIT. Close any window that opens at this point. This is so no Profiles Folder is created. You will be copying the entire Profiles folder from your backup.

NOTE: If this is a first-time install, and a Profile is created, then remove that Profiles folder from the Mozilla folder, and replace it with the backup Profiles folder.

    Next:
Copy the backup of the Profiles Folder and paste it into the Mozilla folder of the new install

That should get Mozilla or Netscape up and running.
