On several occasions it first appeared that mail folders had disappeared. A closer look showed that they were still there; they had just beome subfolders of different folders. How do I move them back to their original positions? One obvious way is to create new folders where I want them, move all appropriate messages to the new folders, and then delete the empty folders that were moved. In that case, does Netscape 7.1 have the equivalent of "Select all? "

What caused the folders to move in the first place?

    Many thanks.

    Hi rusty2,

It could be that when you created the folders you may have created them under a folder other than your Mail Account.

    To select all:
Open the folder with the messages you wish to move and press CTRL+A. Then right click the highlighted messages and select Move to or Copy to. Then you can select the Mail Account and folder to which you wish to move the messages.

I would suggest selecting Copy to, rather than risk losing the messages. If you program should crash, or a power outage, etc. you might lose the messages if you choose Move to. Copy them, and then go back and delete them and the folder which you no longer want.

Many thanks, Ramona. The control A is what I was looking for. I certainly have accidently put folders in the wrong place when I created them, but I notice that right away and change it. These were folders that I knew I had, with many messages in them, that suddenly appeared in a different place. I must do something to accidently move folders, but I don't know what I do.
