Moving Icons

Lately, each time my wife chages to her identity and back again, my icons get shuffled and distributed into odd places.

Any idea why this would suddenly start to happen and how can it be fixed please?

 

That's a fairly common problem it seems. Many user preference settings tend to make changes to the Desktop icon layout.

There are several utilities that will allow you to save your preferred layout and restore it whenever you choose.

I have tried many of them and prefer one called IconSaver It's small and requires no install, just unzip it to its own folder and run the file called saveicons.exe to store your settings. Then when your icon get moved, run the file called restoreicons.exe to return them to your original settings.
