moving fonts

I know the may be a stupid question but I have windows xp on my desktop and windows vista on my laptop. They both contain different fonts how do I take the fonts that i like to use off my desktop and put them on my laptop. I tried a disk but that didnt work. also how can i link my computers together they are both on a wireless network but when I am on my desktop sometimes i need to access things on my laptop and vise versa
