My notebook has limited space in C: on which the Documents, Pictures and Musics are being stored.

I want to move them all to D: drive, and after the move, my working practice on them can remain?

    My working practice includes:

    1. Click Start on the desktop, and click Document / Pictures / Musics. Now it's pointing to the specific folders in C: drive, and in the future, correctly pointing to the corresponding folders in D: drive.

    2. The Shortcuts pointing to those files in C: will point to the same files in D:. Those Shortcuts may currently reside within or outside the folders to be moved.

    3. Those application software with directory pointing to those folders and files will be updated "automatically" or at least being identified as manual changes are required.

    What are the detailed procedure?

I've added to the thread title to indicate that it's Vista's Documents folder that's being asked about.
