    I tried the import/export route via the wizard and just got an 8K .htm file called "favorites" saved to my floppy. I know that there is a folder called favorites somewhere, but I can't locate it under IE or Earthlink. Perhaps in Windows? I'm moving my connection to another carrier on another laptop.
    Thanks.

    Your Favorites folder can be found...

    WinXP/Win2k --> C:\Documents and Settings\<logon username>\Favorites
    Win9x/Me --> C:\Windows\Favorites

    I burn a copy of my Favs to CD as backup as a blank CD is only a buck. That way I will have a copy.

    How large is your Fav folder...you could copy the whole folder to floppy. Make sure when you copy your favs over to the other Laptop you are putting them in the correct folder for the OS.

    Two things that are actually a lot easier for a single user without a lot of rigamorole is backing/saving/transferring My Favorites and Address Book.

    My Favorties, just use My Computer or Windows Explorer to COPY and PASTE the CONTENTS of My Favorites folder to another folder. This includes links, etc. There will be a notification about wanting the hidden files. You can ignore it. When all the contents have been copied and pasted, just burn that folder. To transfer or restore, just do the opposite. First, DELETE the OEM contents of the NEW My Favorites, unless you want to merge. Next, copy and paste the saved Favorites to the new My Favorites.

    As for address book, save as OTHER ADDRESS BOOK >Text, Comma Separated Values. This is quick and easy! Just follow the instructions.

    As for Outlook Express e-mail, I really don't save much. But for those I do, I just use the SAVE AS on the individual e-mail and save it to a folder in My Documents.
