2 days ago I downloaded Microsoft Essentials to get the Moviemaker 2012 so II could put a slide show together for my daughter with music of her baby's 1st year. I've ben able to do everything except it wont let me ad music as I keep getting a error stating it doesn't recognize the files. I checked what was compatible with the program online. I was trying to use itunes songs. I found out they are file protected so I tried just using a regular music CD to load from and still get same error.
What am I doing wrong or why is it giving me the error message and not allowing me to add the music to the show?

I might also add that in the last 3 months I had to have my PC rebooted and a new windows 7 Ultimate OS was installed instead of the windows 7 program it came with when new. So you may want me to upload my new pc info to replace what you already have on filew for my system.
Also, you giuys did a great job helping me keep my pc bug free with the help you gave me last time.

Can you help or recommend a program I can accomplish this task so I can have it done by xmas? Thnx

You'll need music as a *.wma, *.mp3, *.wav, *.aif, *.aiff, *.m4a or *.ogg formatted file.

So you'll first have to rip your music CD to your computer in any of the above formats. WMP can do that for you.

I was able to copy the file from WMP and save it to a place list after which I was able to embed it in Movie maker.
Thank You for your help. I was pulling my hair out!! lol
