    Hi

I have moved the location of the .pst file and the archive file to my D Drive so that backup of important data is easier.

    On my C drive remains:

    outcmd.dat
    outlook.nk2
    Outlook.srs
    outlook.xml

Should these be moved and how ? How does Outlook associate the .pst file with the above if it has been moved ? If I ever have to restore the .pst file because of corruption, how do I associate it with the above files ? I am guessing that the Outlook.srs file is the only one that is a crucial file ?

    Thanks!

The files are Outlook System files and should be left alone...

The outlook.nk2 file for example holds "auto complete" addresses that you've typed in the "TO" field.

    Hi Steve

    Thanks for your response.

What happens if I copy the .pst file to another computer ? Will these files be rebuilt automatically or will I have to transfer them over as well. I was just worried in case something happens to my computer, I only have backups of my D: partition where the pst files are. I would not have a backup of C.

    Thanks!

I backup my pst files and the nk2 file...The others will get recreated should you have to reinstall Outlook.

    Steve:

In that case, I shall not worry about it.

    Thanks again.
