I have recently fomatted and re-installed W2K on my HD (for reasons we won't mention right now...) Since then my desktop goes crazy for a few seconds about 2 or 3 times a day. What happens is my mouse pointer starts moving very quickly on its own, windows start popping up and closing, my start menu is flashing on and off. and once I even had all of my open windows resized and neatly posistioned on my desktop. This all happens in about 5 seconds and then it's done. I have scanned for viruses and found the nachi once but removed it. However, it still continues to happen. Is this a common occurrence or should I tell the ghosts to leave my computer alone...
    Any help would be appreciated...
    Thanks Hammer

Have you scanned for spyware and removed that?

What mouse driver do you use. I work at a US Military installation where we have a new "uniform" (no pun) environment with strict centralized control over our Win2K workstations. We use DELL Dimension 150's and 240's. Whenever I install Logitech mouse drivers, I encounter the same problems you mention. I've given up on the Logitech drivers, and reverted to the M/S standard drivers.

Yes Newt I run Adaware weekly to remove all that ****.
I do use a logitech mouse... as far as the driver goes, it appears to be a standard PS2 mouse driver provided by microsoft with the WIN2K installation. I'll try an IBM mouse and see if it makes a difference.
    Thanks
