I got a new computer so I was going to lend the old one to my son. I didn't want to give him my Logitech 4 button mouse so I tried a regular mouse. Didn't work. Must have plugged it in while machine was running. To make a long story short I can't get any mouse to work now. Not even a usb mouse. Windows does not detect it. Even re-installed windows 98se but didn't fix the problem. Tried safe mode but still don't have a mouse. What do I need to do to get thing thing working again. I can access some things with keyboad but not all. Please help .

It won't be fun, but you should be able to get to device manager and uninstall the Mouse drivers.

Might they Start->Run and type system.cpl and see if that takes to System. Then you can tab around to get to device manager..
