Windows Vista Mouse and keyboard will not awake windows.

My mouse and keyboard will not wake the computer even though I have that box checked under the Hardware→Power Management for both the Mouse and the keyboard under their respective settings.

Do I have to set it somewhere else? I can't find anything under Power Settings

That is the box I have already checked under Hardware→Power Management. It does not wake the computer.

 

Have you tried using the Ctrl key? Vista has a Sleep function. Read about it in Help and Support.

Only the Ctrl key works on my system.

If all else fails, you may need to update the system's BIOS.

The mouse function works by duplicating the keyboard . It is not, therefore, of more importance that you set the keyboard function to wake up. Other then that, there is often a bios function which controls the same thing. Have a look there.
