I have been having serious hardware problems revolving around my graphics card, and I have finally decided to get a new motherboard since it seems to be the problem. I am feeling overwhelmed with the number of motherboard choices out there so I would apriciate some help picking one

    here are my specs:

current motherboard Asus A7N8x 2.0 Deluxe

    AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.16GHz
    1024 MB ram
    120GB hard drive
    BFG GForce 6800 GT OC

I have been frustrated by my crashing while playing games for almost a year and I am really tred of it. Could anyone offer me some help?

logberg, your CPU seems to be Socket-A. Since AMD has stopped production of these CPUs, you would also have problems in locating motherboards for these.

If you can specify hardware problems you are facing, we may be able to help you out.

Follow these instructions to post a Dump Data Log.

With this data it could be possible to track down the cause of your trouble.

    no logs

my motherboard has bit the dust at this point and I can not get a driver to load for either my old radeon 9800 pro or my BFG grahics card. It will boot up with no driver, but if I install any drivers when the sytem restarts there is no display. I am assuming this is a problem with the AGP slot, but since I can not get the driver on, and run anything like World of Warcraft where I was gettng the crashes, I can't get any logs

Have you completely ruled out "software" as the problem instead of hardware?

Is there any way you can load the OS fresh...say on a different hard drive and see how it behaves?

I'm assuming that you have the needed Nvidia Nforce2 platform drivers loaded?

Can you swap VGA card with any of your friends and then see if the problem goes away.?

From the look of things, it looks like a software problem to me. There could also be virus/malware involved.
