I know 95 is way outdated but certain software with interface works well with it!

I have succcessfully loaded 95 on several home built cptrs using CPU up to 2.24 Mhz;I am familiar with the AMDK6 update and use that properly.

Problem:I am building a new cptr and intend to partition it but I have tried with or w/o partitions on several HDDs and cannot get past safe mode using any of these MB's(hope it's permissible to mention names):ASUS P4P800E-Deluxe,P4C800 Deluxe and less "techy" P4PE2-X. I have tried P4 CPUs at 2.26,3.06,and 3.4 Ghz. I have even temp swapped memory and vid card from
computers where 95 does work fully/normally.I used different vid cards(ATI and PNY)

I can install(up to a point!) 95 using one of the newer(all bought since May'04)MBs and even though I can't get past safe mode with THESE MBs,I can connect( "hang ") the HDD on an older 2.26 Ghz or 1.6 Ghz cptr and the same 95 which won't load fully with the mentioned MBs WILL work no muss,no fuss with the older MBs.

I have tried selective start but no change in results.I have only minimum of cards installed, actually only video card.

I have tried using different sizes and types of HDD and partitions of different size with no change in outcome.

I am...at least a "bit" confused why the particular MB used SEEMS to make a difference as to whether 95 will install fully or only up to safe mode(which as mentioned does "work ").

    Any suggestions?

    Tks.

    Motherboard issue...resolved!

Though there were no replies/comments from others,I did find the answer to my problem.

While I could not get past safe mode using ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe,P4C800 Deluxe or P4PE2-X,I decided to try another manufacturers MB.Using the
Intel D865GLC I was able to fully load 95 and use CPU to 3.4 Ghz!This is a current board.
