motherboard does not recognize the HD

    My mobo does not recognize the HD. Replaced Hd,same problem.Went to BIOS,same problem.Clear CMOS,same problem.

    Hi Jerry,
    1. Have you checked the cable, jumpers etc. on the HD?
    2. Did you try Fdisk to see if it's reconized?

    Can you tell us all things you've tried?

    Turn off computer.
    Replace CMOS battery.
    Clear CMOS with ATX power cables disconnected from MoBo.
    Reconnect power cables.
    Turn on computer.
    Boot directly into Bios (del key - usually).
    Set default settings in BIOS.
    Set auto detect on HDD - probably IDE 1, primary.
    Save & Exit.
    Reboot to floppy Win98 startup disk.
    FDisk.

    Now what?
    What OS are you going to install?
