I am running IE8 and find that when I click to open a New Tab, the Most visited websites thumbnails automatically appears. I can not delete the list of most visited sites even when I run the Interner Options / Delete History, etc. Can anyone tell me how to delete the Most visited sites in IE8 ?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Tools > Internet Options > Content > Autocomplete - Settings > Delete Autocomplete History should do the trick.

PROBLEM SOLVED! In fact the "Most visited" Icon and thumbnails which appeared when I opened a new tab in IE8 was a feature of Google Toolbar - solution was to delete Google Toolbar in the Control Panel area and the Most visited thumbnails disappeared . many thanks for your suggestions anyway....

Well I never :) I have the Google Toolbar - could not live without it working on the BBS, but checking the toolbar options I find that I have unchecked 'Enable the Google new tab page'. See also .....

Thanks Pete - that is useful for future reference - may adapt a slightly less crude approach. Great forum - well done !
