    Bloody Zipzap

    Hi,

Anyone who can help me? i too have zipzap popping up constantly. I have run scans many times and deleted the dialer and everything else but it keeps coming back. However I went into my internet connections and deleted the extra dialer (it was called access I think from memory) that had magically appeared and my computer has never dialled an expensive phone call so that might be the answer to that problem. I really have no idea with computers and find the instructions people have given and really dont understand what to do. Could I take it to a computer shop and get it fixed?

Thanks to anyone who can help. :)

    Welcome to WindowsBBS wlshe1 :)

I have moved your post and titled it to reflect your problem.

Please download GetLogXP.zip. Save it to your desktop. If it saves as attachment.php, right click and rename to GetLogXP.zip You may need to enable viewing extensions for known file types to see the zip and php extensions. To do that, open My Computer and click Tools on the menu, then folder options. Click the view tab of the window that opens, uncheck the box to Hide extensions...... and click OK. Now right click the zip and extract the GetLogXP.bat file to your desktop. Double click the file to run it. It will open GetLogXP.txt and place a copy on your desktop. Please post the contents of that log in this thread.

Also, download HijackThis.exe from here. Save it to a permanent folder (I create a new folder in C:\ named HJT). Open and click scan, then save log. Once it is saved it will open in notepad. Select all from the edit button, copy and paste the results here. Don't fix anything with it yet!

    Zipzap ****

    Hi,

I think i fixed the problem. I went into network connections and noticed that a connection in the LAN was connected I disabled it and have had no more popups. Is this the reason it is ixed do you think?

May have disabled it's ability to use that connection, but doubt it's gone. I recommend following through with the instructions above, but it's your call. ;)
