I have a Toshiba A135-S7404 laptop. I have 3 keys that are causing me problems...striking
    the 2 key prints a "2e "
    the e key prints a "2e "
    the s key prints a "sd "
    the x key prints a "xc "

I plugged in a USB keyboard and the keys print fine. I am looking for help in repairing this problem and trying to save expense on repairing this problem.

Sounds like something was spilled on the keyboard causing it to do 2 keys at once.
    Especially these 2 sets.
    the s key prints a "sd "
    the x key prints a "xc "

For the other 2 and e, they are kind of far apart, but it could be the same thing. Try turning the keyboard upside down and shake it and see if anything falls out of it or else blow it with a can of compressed air. Keyboards are a cheap buy now a days. Some keyboards are easy to pop the keys off of and look below them Others are not quite so easy. They all are made to pop the keys off. Just be careful and easy.

Bill, it's a keypad but I agree with your diagnosis, it's most certainly a spillage or ageing parts and the first step is to clean the keypad.

Mcmar, the problem keys should pop off easily enough but before you try this do as MrBill suggested, turn the laptop upside down (opened) and shake gently then try a combination of compressed air and a hand held vacuum cleaner to get as much cr*p out as you can.

Do the keys feel sticky when you press them? If not a replacement keypad may be your only option (cheap enough to buy but not so easy to install :()

Just read the post again. Didn't realize it was a lappy. Still would try cleaning it with air.

 I may be missing something, but a keyboard is a keyboard. If need be you can get a replacement for under $12 on Amazon
