monitor stays in standby at pc powerup

    when my monitor is in stand-by and I turn my pc on, my monitor doesn't react. the monitor stays in standby. you hear a succesfull post according to the beep but the monitor stays down and you can't do anything because you can't see a **** thing

    a know also a couple of friend who experience the same problem.
    anyone some advice on this issue?

    The standard answer to this would be to re-install/update the video drivers, but another possibility is to check that Advanced Power Management is enabled in BIOS.

    Both a shade difficult if you can't fire the monitor up.

    Does the monitor fire up if it is switched on prior to boot?
