I have a problem with my laptop monitor. I think this happens whenever my monitor power option kicks in and turns the monitor off. When I wake it up the window seems to have moved down and to the right losing my task bar and the minimize, maximize and close boxes in the upper right hand corner. I have to manually turn the system off and reboot to get my desk top back to normal. What could be causing this to happen? Windows XP is the operating system.

When the problem occurs suggest you try these keystrokes:
    alt-spacebar
    n

If you do not see the desktop (with icons on it) repeat the above until you do. This minimizes the top window, which is displaced.
    Then:
    rt-clk on desktop
    chose refresh

You can then use alt-tab to restore the window that was minimized.
Let us know if this works. There are more available.
