Our system is XP service pack 3, and none of the screensafes or power settings work anymore. It seems after installing a different sound system M-audio fast track usb is when it stopped working. Can you give me somewhere to look to see if it is the new sound sysytem.

I think you could expect that new "sound system" is conflicting with the old one.

When you change something like that, you should go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall the old "system" before installing the new one.

I suggest you uninstall both in Add or Remove Programs. Try installing the new one again. If you find that Windows keeps "finding" the old one and wants to install drivers for it, try disabling it in Device Manager. Another way might be to find any updated drivers (programs) for the old one and install those.

As I said, I expect they are conflicting. Reinstalling them in reverse order could rectify it. Updating the drivers and "sound program" might be another way.

SP3, it might require updated drivers/software.
