Modem disconnects when switching users

    We have six users able to log into Windows XP on our computer. If a current user is connected to the internet (dial up), and we switch to another user, the modem disconnects from the line. Please help.

    Hi Phillip and Paula - Welcome to the Board :)

    AFAIK this is perfectly normal - I'm sure there was a thread on this a while back, but I can't find it :(

    If the connection was initiated by, say user 1 when user 1 logs off Win XP drops the connection as it was specific to that user.

    I may be off course here, but I think that is the situation.
