Hello....... I have a 60 gig hard drive with three 20 gig partitions. One is for me,one my wife and one to try new things out. When I bootup to mine two messages pop up. First, wininet.dll is missing and Component "msinet.ocx" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered. File missing or invalid. I don't remember installing or uninstalling anything that might have messed things up. IE is not able to get on the internet. But outlook express will. Does anyone know what has happened and how to fix this problem? Thank you.......Mike

noahdfear........... Sorry to take so long to post back. I ran SFC and the only thing that came up was that setupx.dll was corrupted. Do you have any other things I might try? Mike

If you were to run the Internet Explorer Repair Tool, it would only tell you to reinstall, as Wininet.Dll is one of it's files. If your wife's partition has it's own IE installed and the same version, you could copy the Wininet.Dll from the Windows\System folder into yours. Else reinstall Internet Explorer.
Msinet.Ocx is an ActiveX control distributed by a program created in Visual Basic. It would have been installed by something other than IE or windows. I cannot find any place to download it, sorry not much help from me on this.

Might find the dll here. Should be in the C:\Windows\system folder. This might help with the ActiveX control.

I went to DrD's #Windows 95 page, found the dll I needed and downloaded it in a zip file. Then installed it to my e:\windows\system files and rebooted. Everything is working great...................Mike
