I just noticed that in my Microsoft Office 2003 Word that the undo typing and redo typing options in the Edit tab have vanished. I've tried everything from Googling to reinstalling Microsoft Office 2003 and nothing has fixed the problem. I've even done a system restore and that didn't help. They are working on my laptop but it's this desktop computer that they're missing from.

There also seems to be a problem with left and right vertical margins.
I'd very much appreciate someone offering me a solution to this problem but I'm not as concerned with that since I can adjust them manually.

    Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure if it's the same in 2003, but in my later version, I had the same problem when I upgraded from Word 97. The undo feature is in the far top left corner, not down in the links area, where it used to be. It was hard to find the first time.

Does it happen in NEW Docs AND existing Docs?

Yes, but the undo icon ( circular arrow) does not appear in an existing doc UNTIL you type something new in it.

Also, try hitting Ctrl Z and Ctrl Y for undo & redo. Look in the very top line, far left of page.

AndynKrisN are you and bellisimo the same person? Or are you guessing at what he'll post when he sees the question about New and Old docs?

    Hi again,

I'm bellisimo and I'm not AndynKrisN.

Thank you, AndyKrisN. Hitting Ctrl Z and Ctrl Y for undo & redo works. Thanks for telling me about that. It definitely helps, but I'm wondering why those icons are no longer in my Edit option. Could it be something that has come unchecked in tools or elsewhere? I'm so accustomed to doing it by using them in the Edit option that I'd like to fix whatever has caused them to disappear. Thanks for this keystroke solution. It will certainly solve the problem for the time being.

Thank you, too, Steve. To answer your question about new and old docs, these icons are missing in both. Could it be corrected somewhere in my settings or tools options?

    Hi again, fellows,

Okay, I finally managed to solve the problem by clicking on Review in Tools, Options and that put the undo typing and redo typing arrows at the top of the page and from there I was able to drag it to my Edit tab.

Thank you all again for your help.

Steve R Jones - I'm sorry, I thought I was replying to bellisimo, but it was YOU who wrote that query. Guess I need new bi-focals, eh ?

I've marked this thread as Solved but it's not showing. I don't know why, but I tried:)
