Can anyone help me? I am running windows 2000 and last week the task bar at the bottom of the screen by the start menu no longer has the quick launch icons. When I go into tool bars and click on quick launch it says cannot create tool bar. Can someone tell me how I can fix this, I do not wish to install windows 2000 unless I have too. I don't know how to get this back please help.

Thanks for the reply. I thought this site was for people to help with computer problems. Obviously it is not and I get a unhelpful comment like that.

    Sorry you feel that way!

The steps are there to fix your problem. Why should i have to type it again? Says IE5 etc but will work for all IE6 and 98, 2k, XP!

    No offence at all intended!

My humble apologies. The link was not showing up, it came up later. I am new to this website. It was recommended to me from another fellow worker. Thank you. I managed to get some icons come up however cannot find the desktop icon. :)

If you meant the "show desktop" icon that minimizes all open apps then take a look at How to Re-create the Show Desktop Icon on Quick Launch Toolbar where you will find step-by-step directions for getting it back.

If you meant something else when you said "desktop icon" please describe what you are talking about - where it is, what it does, what it looks like.

We try hard to be helpful but most of us agree with Mike that if an article is out there that says exactly how to do what you are asking for, no sense in someone typing in here the exact same information.
