I want to email some photos using WLPG and I'm able to select the photos, press the email button, but there's no 'Photo Size' screen? As a result, my emails turn out to be something that I have never seen before and without any attachments, I guess because I didn't 'size' the photo and then press 'attach'. Do I need an update? How can I get this 'Photo Size' feature? Thanks.

When you click the Email menu item it should open the Attach files dialog where you can select the size of the image: smaller, small, medium, large, original. You also need a default email program.

Are you saying that the Attach files dialog does not have those selections?

Yes....After I click on email...I go directly to Windows Live Mail, which is my default mail program. I'm missing the Photo Size step and as a result, I can't click on Attach. I see the photos on the email page, but I don't think the receiver of my email can save these photos as an attachment. I was able to email photos before...

No solution as I don't use WLMail. But what I'd try is cleanup the mail folders, i.e., delete sent items, delete unneeded messages, delete deleted items. Then I'd cleanup Windows temp files using disk cleanup.

That failing, I'd uninstall Win Live Photo Gallery & then reinstall it.

I wonder if updating WLE to 2011 will do it? The only thing is that I'm using Win XP...

Try signing in to Windows Live mail prior to attaching a picture.

Failing the above try to edit the photo and resize then save the newly edited sized photo and then email it.

Re: TonyT's suggestion: Here's what I did...I don't know if this is what TonyT meant: I opened WL Mail to the 'New" mail page...left it alone and went to WLPG and selected the photos I want to email...clicked email and the same thing happened!!! The new email page has the following along the very top of the page: New Message: Unicode (UTF-8)..i don't recall seeing that before!
Re: Goddez1's suggestion: I'm afraid I don't know how to do that....
I dont' know why this is happening to me...last week I was able to email photos without any problems! The only thing that I did was update WL Essentials to 2011 using the update forWin XP...could this be the culprit?

Is there any other photo software that I can use besides Picasa or Kodak...I think I would like to drop this WL stuff and return to OE and another photo program.

    Hello Bigalx58,
    http://explore.live.com/windows-live-photo-gallery?os=other
You have to read the read and how-tos. If you don't know what it can do how can you do it. Home work:
explore the sublinks to see what this program can do. suggest making photos look great

    ------------------
Are you sure you successfully updated this using this with XP? Specs say:
    http://explore.live.com/windows-live-2011-system-requirements

Please don't misunderstand me. This may have been possible and microsoft is just being a butt for not including in the list since it is no longer supported. I am just asking. but if not this is what you need to read:

If it worked prior to the update, then yes, logic indicates that's the reason it's not working. Roll back to the previous version.

I appreciate all of your comments and suggestions, but I seem to be going around in circles. I have uninstalled the latest version that I supposedly had, installed WLE 2009(?) and I wind up getting the same results. All I want is send my photos with WLM as email attachments as I was able to do before. Will restoring my system achieve the results that I want? Can I get a restore date that is far enough to get the earlier version?
Just tried WLPG on my laptop which uses Vista. When I click on email, I do get a drop down message asking to size the photo and then click attach. The resulting email screen does have the photos listed as attachments! On the desktop that uses Win XP, the email has the photos located in the message part of the email...as well, just below the subject line, there is a toolbar bar that has icons for, 'Add more photos', 'Matting', 'Wood Frame' etc...these things do not appear in the Vista email.

I tried to get the previous version of WL and nothing has changed. I guess I stuck with this until I change my OS from Win XP to something more 'modern'. Thanks to all who took time to help me out!
