Actually , they're not missing . When I do a search for a one of the missing music files and select properties it comes up as being in C:\My Music but the icons are not in the window when I open up My Music. These are songs that were on a CD someone gave to me. When I do the search and double click the song it plays fine . Any suggestions , please? I thought that some of the files might be hidden but when I select Tools, folder option , view I have selected "show all hidden files and folders" . Thanks for any advice , Jim

My Music is usually located in "C:\Documents and Settings\{USERNAME}\My Documents\My Music ". Is it possible that you or someone else has created a folder on C: called "My Music" and placed the files there and the "My Music" folder that you are actually opening is the one located in your documents folder (the 1st path I mentioned). Try going to Start > Run, type "C:\My Music " into the run box and press OK and see if the files appear. If not, try changing the view mode in the window to "Details" as the icons may be positioned in some ludicrous position off the screen.
