Certain windows on control panel, itunes and other software applcations are not displaying properly. Information normally on buttons and drop down menus are missing and the windows do not display properly and some are blank. At times if you pass the mouse over the window some elements appear.

I have Norton 360 and have run spyware and virus scan I have also run registry checker and repaired the registry. can anyone point me in the right direction please:(

I'd suggest you start running System File Checker.

Run sfc /scannow from the command prompt. You'll need to have your Windows CD.

Yes I do have that file in the system32 folder under drivers. The file is there 4 times actually:)

Its in the folder path C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups but within the reinstalbackups folder there are 7 folders entitled 0000, 0001,0002,0003,0004,0005,0006 and the I386 file is contained in a driverfiles folder within each of the followng 0000,0002,0003, and 0005. I hope I have made that clear.

I was asking for an I386 folder, not a file.

I think you're out of luck without a disk.
