    Hi, everyne I stumbled across this site and i'm wondering if anyone can help me with a problem?

    I reinstalled windoews media centre but during the second disc i recieved errors about some missing files IEXPLORE.exe and idew.exe, i learnt that they were for internet explorer and have managed 2 replace them. However there was a problem reading from I386. windows was installed fine but i can't install anything as i get an error message;

    The InstallSheild Engine (Ikernal.exe) Could not be Launched

    The RPC Server Is Unavailable

    My pc has other random errors as well such as media player not working. can anyone help shed some light as to what i need to do 2 fix this please?

    I have searched through other posts with similar errors and done as they describe but the error still persists

    I'm sure I read of this problem somewhere. At one point in the install there is a mistake and the program askes for CD2 When it really means CD1.

    This is from someone's blog.

    When prompted for "˜Windows XP Professional
    Service Pack 2 CD’ place the Windows XP Media
    Center Edition 2005 CD1 in the drive.
