Hi! A customer using XP has relied on using the "Send To" option from the right mouse click menu to copy files to her CD-R. After recently downloading a subscription update to Norton AV, the "CD" icon option disappeared. Does anyone have any idea how it can be restored?

Thanks to all you great folks who provide this service!

Open "My Computer" > right click the CD drive icon > select "Properties" > click the "Recording" tab > tag the box labeled "Allow Recording on this drive" > click Apply and exit.

    Parino,

Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\user name\SendTo. Right click (and hold) the CD drive in the 'folder tree' and drag it into the 'Send to' folder, when you release the mouse... select 'Create shortcut here'. That should take care of the missing drive icon. This also works for any folder that you may want to include in the 'Send to' menu.

    B

You may have to do it the way I outlined in order for it to work properly. Placing a shortcut in the "Send To" folder will not get the job done if recording is not enabled for the drive.
