Running Win2K SP4 on this box for almost a year without problems. Last week, I installed DAEMON Tools. This proggie lets you "mount" an ISO or .bin CD image file onto a "phantom" drive and run the image file as if it were a CD. Never could get the thing to work correctly, so I uninstalled it. Now my 2 CD drives are missing from My Computer. They are shown with the correct identification in the device manager, they just don't "logically" exist. I assume the DAEMON tools wacked the generic CD device drivers. Anyone know how to correct this? THANKS !

Have you tried deleting them from device manager and rebooting to let the OS detect the 'new hardware'?

Sorry, Newt . . . I forgot to mention that I deleted the CD drives from the DM and the BIOS, then put them back in the BIOS. Win2k then correctly found the 2 CD drives as an ATAPI CD-RW 48X24 and a PINE CD-ROM PT-56X. I now have my C: and D: hard drives and my G: Zip drive, but not my E: and F: CD Drives.

I've been think of moving up to XP, so maybe this is the right time. Still, I'd like to fix this just for my own satisfaction. Thanks for your help. You're always there for us.
