missing 2nd HD

    I have a 2nd HD that I have bee using for months. Suddenly it disappears on "My Computer" but still shows on the BIOS. I can not get access to it. It also shows in Device Manager ". I did try the Windows XP troubleshooter with no avail.
    This is a custombuilt computer. Windows XP. Primary HD: 40gb,2nd HD(slave) : 20gb. 512 MB Memory,with an INTEL processor 1.7 mhz.

    Hi Jerry,
    When is "suddenly "? Have you lost all access to the drive or is it intermittent? If you have occasional access, run CheckDisk on it.

    Open the case, pull and reseat the cable connections to the drive.
