    Hello there,

    I seem to be having problems fixing an error on my brother's computer. Every time he starts up windows, he seems to have an error that says "Your System has recovered from a serious error ". These files seem to be responsible somehow to this error:

    C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini110203-04.dmp
    C:\DOCUME~1\ANDYC~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER2.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

    He also has random resets every now and again. His computer is an Althlon XP 2000 (1.67Mhz), 512MB RAM, 2 HDD's (40GB + 120 GB), Geforce 4 MX, running Windows XP Pro.

    I read up on the internet a bit to see if I could find any solutions, but have been unsuccessful. I have tried to fix the random reset thing by adding a line to the system.ini file in msconfig:
    ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1
    (inside 386enh)
    That has only made the resets occur less often.
    :(
    I have read up on Minidump errors in your forum, but none of them have helped so far. Anyone got ne ideas?

    yes thanx

    Thanks mate,

    That fixed the problem. I think the problem was that I couldn't be bothered letting windows download the service pack. The workaround option did the trick, although I will have to let windows do an update one of these days.;)
