I want to switch my hard drive from PATA to SATA, but keep PATA for the optical drives. (SATA is integrated in the motherboard.) I have Acronis to help me make the switch. Is there anything I will need to know to be sure Win2000 will remain bootable?

After you make the clone - unplug the original drive and let the new drive boot up and finish the process. Shutdown and plug the original back in. Change the bios boot sequence to the new drive.
