Does anyone know if there is a "Word Processor" out there for very basic needs that is dependable and easy to use. I am trying to use Word Pad in Windows 10 but having all kinds of problems. I cannot find a way to be able to identify page breaks when I am going to print and recently when I try and correct an error, the program deletes the ensuing letters as I try to type. Years ago I had several versions of the WP in Microsoft Works and it was so great and easy to use. Then Microsoft discarded it. Their current WP is too complex for me, has features I don't know what they are much less would use and is too expensive for my modest needs and I have doubts I could learn to use it. The only other I have tried is Open Office 4.1.2 which I have the same problems as with Word Pad. I thought about Google Docs but in the download area there are so many hucksters it's hard to tell who is who with ads that try not to look like ads for "drivers" & more. One button I clicked on brought up my ESET security program warning "Do NOT GO THERE!" Any comments would be appreciated - particularly concerning the problem in Word Pad where when I make an error and, for example, delete a letter entered by mistake--as in the word confract for contract---when I delete the f and enter a t --it deletes the r. Thanks in advance for any comments & help!

Hi, I copied your Thread into Wordpad on this comp running W10 and was able to delete the 'f' and replace it with a 't' in your word confract - no problems.
Page breaks are a problem. A "Google" shows a suggestion of using Print Preview to set pages.

I would suggest you try Libre Office from here:
    https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/
I have used this many times in the past and it is excellent.

OpenOffice (Apache OpenOffice) is another one.

Thank you for your response. I will take a look and most likely try libreoffice. I opened Wordpad this morning and tried what you did and succeeded. Then I remembered the problem I was having with that issue was with documents I had already created, saved, and subsequently went into to change and that's when the fun began. Over a period of 3 days. Will try again later today. Love your logo pic. A number of years back I had and used a similar one-- was a white duck in a blue jacket with a red tie holding an enormous hammer over his head and a scowl on his face getting ready to demolish his PC. I lost it in a computer exchange. Would love to get it back. It was a panic. Thanks again for responding.
