I have Essentials configured to scan once a day, which it does.

However, every so often the tray icon changes colour from its normal green to orange. When I open its window it tells me that "You haven't run a scan on your computer for a while ".

    Why does this happen?

A full scan rather than the scheduled quick scan?

If it bothers you that much in settings change quick scan to full scan under "Run a scheduled... "

The scheduled scan is already a full one.

Well I can't help you other than suggest that it hasn't updated for a couple of days.

I'll leave this for others to answer.

Sorry people, I have just been reminded to respond.

I subsequently asked the question on another forum and received advice which worked. The advice was to uncheck Windows MS AntiMalware in CCleaner's Applications tab.
    That solved the problem
