I hope I am posting this in the right place!
I recently moved from Outlook Express to Microsoft Outlook, and am generally quite happy with it.

However, all the names in my address book are being displayed in forename/surname order, and I cannot find a way to reverse that to surname/forename.

I have found that by going to Tools>Options> Contacts I can change the order for NEW contacts, but not to change the whole address book.
I would like to find a way to change the whole Address book contacts to last name first, but cannot find a way of doing that.
    Any suggestions please?

In Outlook 2003, when viewing a contact, there is an option called "File As" which will allow you to make the needed change. I'd imagine other version have this option.

Thank you - I have found this option in the CONTACTS FOLDER, but I am concerned with the ADDRESS BOOK. When I wish to send an e-mail, I click on the little book beside - TO - which bring up the Address Book. This is the listing which I would like to change to surname/firstname.

However, I did a search on Windows Outlook and to my surprise the following answer came up . . . .

"Names in the Address Book dialog box always appear in alphabetical order. You can't change this.
Names in the Contacts folder can be sorted in various ways by using views"

I assume therefore that the listing in the ADDRESS BOOK cannot be amended to surname/firstname ?

You could beat the system if you really wanted to...You can type their last name in the first name field etc...
