I received an e-mail with an attachment with a dot pps extension. I tried to open it, and got a message that the attachment doesn't have a file associated with it....is is a pps extension. I do have "Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2003 ". I went to Start/Control Panel/Folder properties and File Extenson....shows many file extensions, including the PowerPoint viewer. How do I create a file association the e-mail attachment I am trying to view.
    Step/by/step instructions, please.

On the File Types tab, scroll down to pps and select. Below, there should be an 'Opens With' and a Change button. Click Change. A window will open with a list of programs. If the Power Point Viwer is listed, select it and OK your way out, else click Browse then navigate to and select the PP Viewer's executable in it's installation directory.

Another option would be to save the file to your drive, then right click and select Open With, select the PP Viewer and check the box to 'Always use the selected program ..... '.
