I have this Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro which comes with extra 2 USB ports at the back of the keyboard.

I've downloaded the latest driver (4.0) for WinXP and installed it allright.
I've plugged in the PS2 and USB, but when winxp detects a new hardware, it detects the USB ports as an unknown device.

So I can not use the extra 2 USB ports as WinXP Pro detects as Unknown Device.

I didn't have problems with WinME.

    My system:
    AMD K6-2+ 500mhz at 550mhz
    192M PC100 RAM
    Win XP Pro
    AOpen AX59Pro (http://www.aopen.com/products/mb/ax59pro.htm)

    Any clue?

Wow you still using super socket 7 mainboard too:cool:
I got the k6-3/450 & the bios don't really allow me to "enable" usb keyboard! I think this may be your prob too. While we can use a usb keyboard we don't seem to be able to fully use all the funtions of teh newr featured bios' Hope there is a workaround for ya:)

Well yes I still use K6-2.

The Mobo Bios has an option for USB Legacy devices, which I have enabled.

I can use the KeyBoard with the USB plugged in with no problems, but I can not use the extra 2 USB ports at the back of the keyboard.

WinXP detects the extra 2 USB ports as an unknow device.

    Any work around?

    Thanks

However the USB legacy devices are just that; DEVICES. The new boards have also in bios "enable USB keyboard" this is for the extra utilities "ON" the keyboard. In other words the keyboard is seen as an appliance in your legacy case:)
