I want to run this program on a "Compact Flash Card" so that I may have access if I need it from another computer. I am running Win XP sp 2 and all updates on a clone with 1g memory, etc. The card is a 1g Compact Flash connected via usb 2.0.

I was able to get a working copy on the card by doing a "send to" and it works very well. I also did a "send to" for the data file.

My problem is, the program cannot find the data file (when I do download from the bank) that is also on the card. I get the error message "C:\documents and settings\dad\local settings\temporary internet files\content.ie5\rmoup7rf\jpmc[1].ofx ". Of course I do not want the program to search here for the data file when I do a download.

I have had this problem when doing a reload of Money as well. Where the program cannot find the backup or data file.

What I need to know is where I can find the information that tells the program where to look for the data file so that I may change it to fit.

    Any takers?

Not being a user of MS Money, I can't really check this out to verify things but you have a few places to look. First of all, you should be able to copy that .dat (I'm assuming its a 'dat file but it could also be encrypted) file by just heading into the temp directory where its currently stored. Yes, its a manual approach but might be your best bet. You want to make sure your settings are such that you show both hidden files and folders and file extensions - without these enabled, you won't find anything. Secondly, its another pretty safe bet that you will find and be able to ammend the storage location by going into the regitry and navigating to that software under HKEY_CURRENT_USER and or possibly HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. As a word of caution, if you are not familiar with editing the registry, then don't try this as you could easily cripple your software. Third, you perhaps can get a better clue by opening the program's .ini file in notepad and seeing how things are configured - this should provide you with a roadmap.

    Good Luck
    ;)
