The December security release consists of security updates for a total of 27 vulnerabilities (3 rated critical) for the following software: Adobe Flash Player, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office Services and Web Apps, ChakraCore, .NET Framework, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Visual Studio and Windows Azure Pack (WAP).

All supported versions of windows are affected.

More details about the updates (including further steps to take after installing some of the updates) and links to known issues can be found on the Microsoft Security portal

After version 1809 got installed, KB4467708 on 2018-11-15 and KB4471332 on 2018-12-11 both failed on the first (automatic) attempt with error code 0x8024200D. On both occasions the second (automatic) attempt was successful. I went google on the error code, results inconclusive but indicate a possible cause to be a corrupted download.

    Quite easy:

Just don't check for updates manually.

I do agree that this is unacceptable behavior by Microsoft. They should either use the "Insider" program for this (users that have agreed to install beta software), or pop-up a warning on WU before installing beta packages (this last is not a good option IMHO).
