I have been using Microsoft Backup successully to backup data files on an external hard drive. I tried to use the backup 'everthing on the computer" mode where a floppy disk is created to boot up in case of total failure. The system cannot create the file for the floppy and the backup is aborted. Any ideas?

Why not? Do you get an error message? If so, what is it?

Most floppys will not hold the volume of data you are trying to create.

The backup data will go to the external hard drive as usual. The floppy holds just enough to boot up and retreive the backup from the external drive.
