Microphone problems?

    I have 2 microphones and i know they both work, im using windows XP and ive used them before on this machine..but now i cant get any feedback from the mic, ive ran the volume control and the microphone volume is up all the way, but also the left and right faders are greyed out like it isnt working..can anyone help?

    Ok since it seems im not gonna be able to fix this problem easily..if i put my microphone in the "line in" spot in the back of my pc..can i record or use that instead of the microphone input?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately no help from me. Just to let you know I have the same problem.

    One day the Mic. was working, the next it dissapeared!

    I've tried a system restore to take the system back to a date I knew the Mic. to be working, but that failed.

    Installed the oldest & latest sound drivers for my on-board sound card (ASUS P4B533-E MB), all with no success.

    Everything is working, except my microphone :(

    Same thing happened to me..i dont understand it..like you said one day its working the next day i try to use it and no sound whatsoever :(
