We have several locations that have exhibited power outages recently. When the machine comes back up, the Messenger Service, set to automatic, has a status of started, but does not work. If the Messenger Service is stopped, the started again, the Messenger Service begins working again. Has anyone else seen this problem, and if so, does anyone knows why the service responds this way after a power outage?

    Thanks,
    Sandy

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

I could be that the router or modem hasn't booted back up completely??

Are the machines set to come back on automatically? If so, might consider changing that to let the machine stay off. When power comes back - turn on the pc's.

Course getting some UPS's comes to mind.
