I am using netscape 4.79 for my E-Mail because
I find it does the best job in getting my E-Mail.
I am getting killed with spam. Under EDIT I
found MESSAGE FILTERS. I do not know how to
set it up. Do I type it partial sentences of
E-Mail I do not want? Can you type it a lot
of words or sentences for E-Mail I do not want.
Where does this rejected spam go? Can someone
walk me into setting this up. I do not use any
other E-Mail programs except what came with
Netscape 4.79. Are there good spam software
programs available that will work with my
netscape 4.79 E-Mail program. Most of them
seem to be designed for Outlet Express which
    I do not use.

    Thanks, Jerry

I spent a lot of time setting up a lot of filters, which handled part of your junk mail, but I was never able to control it.
Things were better with NS7.1 which has built-in Junk controls, which learn which messages to keep, and which ones to send to the circular file.
If you are in a position that you are getting 80%+ junk, only one thing will help. Give up on that e-mail address, and get another one. Unless you have a stingy ISP. My ISP encourages that approach. And, I am very careful signing up. And, never again an easy to guess address.
I believe I got one junk mail a few months ago on one of the two active addresses. It took a while to contact everyone to inform them of the change, but it is worth the effort.
The last time I checked the old address I had 563 junk and three good e-mails. I had neglected to inform two, and I guess the third one does not know how to read.
