Using TB 24.2.0, I accidentally pressed the Archive button in a message I had no intention of deleting. The message immediately disappeared, and I'm unable to find it anywhere. But, where did it go? Where was it "archived "?

    Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have any folders called Archive?

    JSSR,

Greetings - been away for some time poor health , but still enjoy a challenge -

I do not use TB very much, but from what I gather....

    1. Check the HELP menu at the top of the screen of TB
    2. Search "archive messages"

    Some information there.

Basically, "Archives" are on an account by account basis.

    1. Check .....account name-> account settings -> copies & folders ->(Right side)Message Archives...

That should be set to where archives are for that account -

By default they shud be in a folder named "Archives" - in the parent account - Like most all "message folders" in Mozilla - they're really a "File" with no extension.

I believe that you can juggle those setting around a bit to pretty much put them anyplace you want in any "Named Folder ".

You can get them back by opening the "archive" folder - select the message you want and simply drag and drop wherever you want - I don't know if this folder auto compacts on empty like Trash or not - something you can check on.

But then again I may be wrong.........

    Hopefully this may help some.

    regards:captjldd

    Steve/Capt ...

Thanks for your responses but, unfortunately, neither of them helped.

I DO have a folder called Archive (it's a default folder) that's filled with subfolders I created.

I failed to notice, until just now, that the "Archive" button in the message window created a folder labeled "2014" within the default Archive folder and moved the missing message to it.

It was a simple matter to open the 2014 folder and drag the (no-longer-missing) message back to the Inbox, then delete the 2014 folder.

    Problem solved.
