    Hi All,

I have been given the task to merge to SQL databases together which consist of exactly the same tables etc, but just consist of different data.

I have never done anything like this before, and don't have a clue on how to start this but am aware that it is possible.

Any advice would be much appreciated. :D

    Kind Regards

On one hand I'm not an export...On the other hand I support an accounting software that uses SQL databases.

Almost everthing that is entered in the database (db) is assigned an internal ID number. Merging to db's that could have also sorts of identical ID's through out the db's would be a really really BAD thing.

Hi, and thank you for your response. I am aware that every record entered has its own internal ID and most certainly the 2 databases will contain records which share the same IDs, however I am also aware that there is a way to do this and I would have thought it would be by re-assigning ID's to the records.

If you have any idea on how I can go about this it would be great.

    Thanks again.
