I came across some kind of tweak (can't remeber where) that said the menu speed was slow and should be speeded up. I accepted it's recommendation and yes, the menus are very quick - so quick that if the cursor goes over the edge even for a split second the menu dissappears and I have to select it again.

So my question is - how do I slow them down again??

Open up Regedit and navigate to ....

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

In the right pane select, "MenuShowDelay ". Right click, modify and set the value to 400, the default value. Reboot
