Ok I just knew things were to good. I noticed that the menu speed on my second PC is super fast so I check the setting in the MenuShowDelay and found it to be 0. This surprised me since I thought the default was 400. Well I change it to 800, which is the speed I like, but after I reboot it goes back to 0. Any thoughts?

Any third party tools at work that you recall? I know RegSeeker allows you to manually set that delay time without going into the Registry head first. Perhaps some other tools do that as well and are trumping any setting you make.

0 is fastest. I have mine on 100. 800 is .8 seconds. Set it on 1500 if you want it really slow.

I just changed mine by right clicking MenuShowDelay, click modify and enter 1500 and close regedit and reboot. Comes up slow as molasses. Changed it back to 100 and reboot. Back to lightning fast.

I am running Xstep Pro which permits the change of the menu speed. This program won't hold the change either. I even uninstall it to see if it could be the problem.

surferdude2, I agree because when I reboot it changes back to zero. I will keep hunting for something else. I do so much silly stuff who know. Something is changing it back to 0 I believe

Bmoore, you are absolutely correct, but I can't get any number to hold except 0 after I reboot.

Check your permissions to see if you are allowed to make that change. Right click the Desktop key at the location you posted and select "permissions" to view your setting for each user id.

Normally that would generate an error message but when doing it via 3rd party, it may not show up.
