memory sticks for usb port in windows ME

Hello, I have Windows ME in a Gateway PC which has a usb port but I do not know if I can use any type of a memory stick in this or not? The old floppy disks don't hold much, and I was wondering if anyone could direct me on how to use these, if available? And also what companies do make these; product numbers, etc.? I'm not even sure if Windows ME is advanced enough for these, but am hoping that they are.

Thank you for your response, Steve, but I'm beginning to suspect that the Windows ME is simply too outmoded. Yes, Flash Drive is, I believe, what is meant. In any event, I was given a Kingston Data Traveler 2.0 and I tried it along with the Driver.pro item. I received an error message, "This program requires Windows NT version 5.0 or later" So I'm wondering if there are any types of Flash Drives that are compatible with the ME, or have I simply missed the boat on any of these these Flash Drives that will work with Windows ME?
